ICCF II Caribbean Tropical Sun International Open Tournament

The Cuban Correspondence Chess Federation (FECAP) are pleased to announce an International Open Tournament.

Correspondence chess players from all countries are warmly invited to participate in the "II Caribbean Tropical Sun International Open Tournament" using the Prediction Criterion System as tie-breaking rule.
 
The Tournament will be played in a single phase using 3/26 ICCF rating list with 4 sections:
 
Section A for players with rating 2400 or higher
TO:Pedro Vertiz Gutiérrez
Section B for players with rating 2300 – 2399
TO: Giraldo Menéndez Rodríguez
Section C for players with rating between 2000 – 2299
TO:Carlos Vila Hernández
Section D for players with rating 1999 or lower
TO: Giraldo Menéndez Rodríguez
 
The tournament will be played on the ICCF server at triple block time control for a 350 days event, with 75 days initial bank and 1 day increment for the first 50 moves. No guaranteed time will be available after move 50.

Prediction of moves is mandatory from the 11th to the 40th move.
 
The tournament will be rated and valid to obtain the norms for ICCF titles in groups that meet all the conditions required by the ICCF.
 
Registered players grouped by rating will be allocated to groups of 11, 13 or 15 players in ranking order (from higher to lower), so that all group members have a similar rating.
The number of groups will depend on the number of registrations. Up to 2 registrations will be allowed, with the second registration the player will be paired in the group following the first group. 
 
The start date of the tournament is September 15, 2026.
 
Registrations
The registrations and the payment of the fees for II Caribbean Tropical Sun International Open Tournament must be done by National Federation or DE system in the server of the ICCF opening the menu Cuba in New Events.
 
The registration fee is 12 €.
 
Inscriptions must be received no later than September 1, 2026.
 
The first tie-breaking criterion with am equal number of points will be the success in predicting opponent's moves. Further criteria are the same as in standard tournaments.
 

Certificates
This tournament will award certificates to the top 3 in each group.
