ICCF World Cup 24 (webserver)

Tournament Organization
The tournament will be played in 3 stages.
Matjaz Pirs (BUL) will be the Central Tournament Leader, and the Bulgarian CCA will provide Tournament Directors for all stages of the tournament.
The Preliminary and Semifinal round will be played by webserver with the ICCF Triple Block system for a 700 day event, with player's clock 50 days - 50 days initial bank and 5 days increment for the first 50 moves is used.
The Final round will be played by webserver with the pace 50 days 10 move.
The event will be rated with title norms, which are usually possible at the Semifinal and Final stages.
Allocation of players to the Preliminary sections will be made as random as possible; however geographical distribution as well as an achievement of reasonable equality of the average rating will be taken into account.
The Preliminary stage will start on 25th November 2024.
Each group will consist of 7-11 players
Entries
All players are eligible to enter.
Players may register in the usual way through ICCF registration system (select “Register by Direct Entry” or “Register via National Federation”). Tournament fee for Direct Entry: 9 Euros.
Multiple entries are allowed up to the number of preliminary sections. However, one player only can qualify twice to the Semifinal stage.
Registration will begin immediately and will close on 10th November 2024.
Rating list 2024/4 will be applied.
All Preliminary groups will finish on 25th Oktober 2026.
The Semifinal round will be started on 25th November 2026. Each group will consist of 9-15 players. All Semifinal groups will finish on 25th Oktober 2028
The Final round will be started on 25th November 2028 With 13-17 players
All groups of the Preliminary and Semifinal stages start on the same day.
Each group winner will be promoted to the next round together with the best runners-up of the groups (as decided by the tournament organiser).
Tie breaking procedures (1.3.4.):
- a. number of wins by each tied player in the tournament (the Baumbach tie-breaking system)
- b. if after “a” the tie persist, then the points evaluation by the Sonneborn-Berger-System,
- c. if after “b” the tie persists, then the results of the tied players against each other.
Prizes
The group winners of the Preliminary stage and of the Semifinal stage win a prize, paid as ICCF Vouchers or suitable prizes provided by our sponsors.
Cash prizes are only available to those with a acceptable route of payment, otherwise payment will be made in ICCF vouchers.
Tie-breaks will not be applied in respect of these cash prizes and instead those players scoring equal points will equally share any prize money due.
Qualification
The winner of the Final round has the right to take part in the Final round of the next correspondence chess World Cup tournament without paying any entry fee. Participants in the Final stage have the right to take part in the intermediate stage of the next correspondence chess World Cup tournament.
Additionally, participants in a World Cup Final can achieve qualifications to participate in World Correspondence Chess Championship Semifinals and/or Candidate sections.
